Hi, I am setting up my new mill which i converted it to CNC.I have purchased a THK BNF 2005 Ground Ballscrew. But because it was used it has 0.04 mm (0.0015 in)backlash. I remember that the balls of the ballscrew have diameter of 3.14 or 3.15 mm(the last time i cleaned it). I contacted Salem Ball specialty for some new balls I m thinking on purchasing.Chrome steel balls with 3.152 diameter. Is it OK to be that oversized? Is there anything i should be aware of?Is it true that you can alternate the balls(one small, one big)? I believe that by beeing all the balls the same size,it will be better.Any considerations will be welcome! Thanks |
