Has anyone ever built a linear stage with 3 bearings instead of four. It would seem to me that it could be done using one long rail with two bearings and one short one with a single bearing. As three points define a plane, I would think that this would thoretically limit wear not to mention save money. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiance? -Dan |
