Hi people! I just recieved a small leadscrew that i'm going to use for my Z-ax. it's about 30cm long and has a diametre of 16mm. it came with 2 ballnuts for just $30! anyway, is there a way tot test if it's working properly? the ballscrews seems to have alot of resistance, i cleaned the leadscrew becouse small dust was sticking to the grease (was packed in oilpaper). it still has resistance, and at some points more then others. i think theres some dust IN the ballnut. any way to get it out? i don't have other leadscrews to compare with, so please help me. greets, Klaas |

| yes, they are preloaded, i do not have a balltube to disasamble the nuts the seller told me the parts have been stored for about 5 years orso :/ i think some of the oil is dryed out. Is it safe to just put the whole spindel in a can filled with oil overnight? maybe some loosens up a bit. greets, mi |

| Yes, it would loosen it up....but then you'd have to relube it....can you see a way to lessen the preload....usually it's just too ballnuts with a spring between them and some sort of frame or clamp holding them together. |
