steper+gecko201+2" /turn b/s driver ... help

hello all

I have step motor 4 Amp 1.8 deg

gecko drive 201

ball scrow 1 turn= 2" movement

.......................

I try to make a 2mx2m cnc router ... lettle big

the quistion i s what is the good rate of gear in betoween step motor

and ball/scrow ... to optain good speed without step-loss in movement

up to now.. and for no load .. I could run the motor as maximum speed

as 600 rpm only...... at 60 volt 3.5 amp adjust at the drive..


any help.. ???

How much torque does the stepper have? What's the steppers rated voltage? What's the diameter of the screw? How much weight are you moving.

For a ballpark figure, I'd say 4:1, so 1 turn of the motor = 1/2" of movement
