I am looking at purchasing a couple pair of used THK rails & blocks; HSR20CR. They are going to be used for a 30" x 30" x 12" (cutting envelope) gantry mill. The rails are 2m long so there will be extra rail. Does anyone know if additional or different blocks can be purchased for THK linear rails? Any help would be appreciated. Eric |

| Yes, you can put HSR20 blocks on the rail that they're meant for anytime. They come in different preloads, so in principle they should all be the same, but in practice it works to mix them. McMaster sells THK new - part 6709K14 is the HSR20 block, 6709K43 is the rail. HSR is a good "all direction block" - I'd snap em up as that's my favorite series for building gizmos. |

| Eric, Hi! The HSR rail must have HSR blocks. In general the parts and pieces are not interchangeable between the different families! According to the tech guys at THK there are subtle differences in the rail profiles for each of the famiies. You can go to the online store at www.thk.com to see the different parts available for each series. Evodyne |
