I got given this: CDY1S15H-250 http://www.smc.nu/produkter/4_cylindrar/CDY1S.pdf Pneumatic/magnetic slide assemly CDY1S15H-250 Is this of any use as it is or should i try to convert it to ballscrew/trade it for something? |

| Interestingly enough, this is almost EXACTLY what i am using for my Z axis. Mine is a 100mm travel item rather than your 250mm. Flex is almost non existent at this length. Retail price on these things is HUGE - If you're going to sell it, keep it complete. I converted mine to a threaded type using 2 brass 'plugs' with an internal thread which were then screwed away from each other to get rid of backlash. They were held in with the original washer and circlip. Also - they can be cut down if you need to....I done this with another one that i had before i found the 15mm one. I'll attach a couple of pics for ya to see. |
