Just wondering if anyone has considered using "Ball Screw Jacks" and encoded DC gear Motors? I have seen this setup on computer controlled loadframes similar to Instron but not CNC milling applications. http://www.nookindustries.com/jack/JackModels.cfm I have no affiliation with Nook. |

| I used A Nook Ball-screw jack on an older Avey mill/drill for the Z axis, this replaced the original hydraulic Z feed, worked out well. Al.

| If looking for Screw Jacks, give T.E.A. Machine Components, Inc. in Richmond, VA a call - 804-342-0004. They carry a couple lines of screw jacks at competitive pricing. Visit their website at www.teausa.net or www.technische-antriebselemente.de. They carry a wide variety of components. |
