    Helical beam coupler q's

Hi everybody. I was going to build a CNC but due to time constraints I had to get a K2 and put the other project off for now. Everything was going great until I sheared the dinky Z axis screw coupler in half and need to replace it. I want to get some nice aluminum helical beam couplings from McMaster (like part 6208K6) but I can't figure out if they are bored all the way through, as the coupling won't fit if it isn't. If anybody that has used these and can tell me for sure if the shaft bores go all the way through or not that would help a bunch.

Any other suggestions appreciated as well
    Thanks guys

They give the bore depth on McMaster-Carrs's site, with a picture that shows them not going through. Page 1078

If you need the helical type that is bored all the way through, you need to find a supplier that can provide Helical Products Inc couplings, these are bored all the way through and you can also order them with centre relief (larger dia. in the centre).
If they are going to provide a fair amount of torque though, I prefer to use their stainless version, a bit more money, but tend to last longer.

Yeah I saw that, I was hoping that it looked like this:

and that that number referred to the depth of the bore that matched the shaft diameter. You can see the middle is drilled out larger to allow for misalignment. The 'Heli-cal' ones are this way but I don't know where to order them from online. I'm stuck out in the middle of nowhere for now.
    Thanks for your help.

    edit:
Thanks Al you beat me to the punch. SDP-SI.com has some that seem to have the relief bore in the center. I might have to call them up.

Thats a few hours away from me normally Al. I'm actually stuck in the middle of nowhere West TX in McCamey, the wind energy capital of the world. Thanks for pulling that up for me though that will be good to know if I have to I have family up there that can pick it up for me.
