Resonably priced shafts - but are they what I want? | | http://www.qbcbearings.com/RFQ/Defau...e=B612Main.htm
Like many, I want to use linear rods and bushings, but the price is, well, pricey. The above link has some Solid Steel 60HRC rods that look to be accurate enough - can someone with more experience comment?
42" 3/4 Rod with a few supports along the way should provide enough support for the long axis, I think. Is there are reason I should consider paying almost 3 times as much for stainless? The machine would be in a controled environment without coolant, so I wouldn't think rust would not be an issue.
Thoughts?
Thanks for the help... |
