| How important is it to have matching set of ball screws? I have the opportunity to get a free Hardinge CHNC ball screw assemble from the x axis retired machine. It should have at least 6 inches of travel or more and could make a nice z axis for my CNC router table 4'x4' in size. I plan on using home shop cnc ball screws for my x and y axis. Should I just buy new ones or would the hardinge chnc ball screw be just fine? Thank-you Last edited by journeyonline; 01-19-2006 at 02:42 PM. |

| The only way it would matter is if you are looking for super-tight precision from a twin screw gantry arrangement. Scott
