My plasma table has a y axis span of 2 meters. I am also using the vee bearings.
I had to have a motor driving from both sides of the table to keep it square and stiff.

I already used a BWV dual vee setup however it is not stiff enough in torsion. whick affects the y-axis linearity. I would like to add a rod bearing to the gantry. I think it would stifen the frame nicely.
I am concerned on how much span can be had. what diameter should i use?
I am spanning a 6' area supported of course on the ends. Again, there is a supported bearing already but this one in order for it to fit on the existing insatallation must be a free span.
recommendations appreciated,

Do you have any pictures. Sound like whatever your DualVees are mounted to isn't stiff enough.

It's only held together with f clamps at the moment. I am going to weld it up soon.
There is no flex with the other side being driven.
