| Im in the process of designing a gantry router and was wondering if anybody had a line on acme lead screw in long lengths. (I.E.) 9 feet. As you may have guessed i want to build an 8ft by 4 ft table and i want to be able to use ALL of said 8 by 4.Thanks for any sources anyone may direct me too! I assume finding a carrier that will handle something this long will be my first hurdle. Thanks all! |

| I buy 1/2-10 Acme from enco.com but the longest they have is 6 foot! I would recoment a much large diameter screw for that distance! Look here for rolled Ballscrews & nuts, they have a really good price! Eric |

| Your critical rpm is going to be very low for a 9 foot length of lead screw (at any home shop practical diameter). You should consider using a timing belt drive, or at least a stationary spindle/rotating nut design.
