    linear motion rail position

    can anyone tell me if linear rails can be used mounted on their side ( in other words running across a vertical surface)? I want to mount my x axis rails on the side of the machine bed. Hiwin rails too expensive for me to get.

    They're not as ridgid as if you mount them on a horizontal surface. There's a website with the percentages for each mounting config, but not sure where...
