    Cheap linear rails?

Here's a (new?) take on an idea that is already out there for linear rails. I have been looking at the PBC "integrated rail" systems wondering if there would be a way to emulate the design with a lower price point. My idea is to take an 8020 corner extrusion, profile 1547 and modify it on a table saw (please see sketchup jpeg). Put a thin piece of stainless steel angle on it (say 18 gage) and pair it with some v-bearings. I wanted to post here for opinions and feedback...maybe someone has tried something similar before? I also thought about a custom extrusion if there was some interest from a few members... There was a guy who got a few people together and ran a "makerbot" extrusion that used small delrin v wheels, and I thought that was a great DIY success.

So, let's hear it (I have never posted a jpeg on cnczone...I hope you guys can see it).

By the time you finish fabbing all the parts, paying for the extrusion mold, making custom trucks, not including your labor, it would still be cheaper to buy these:
