I need to find this Track Roller

    Hi Group,

I am looking for a track roller with dimensions as shown on the attached picture:

What this track roller is, is a 8 mm ID, 22 OD and 7 mm W ball bearing covered in most likely nylon making it a 27.5 mm OD track roller. I can not find them anywhere! I need anywhere from 10 to 20 of them to finish my large plasma cutter project.

Since the 8x7x22 ball bearings are superbly easy to find, I was thinking about either molding the plastic jacket using one of those smooth on plastics and a mold, or just lathe a plastic kacket and pressure fit it on the bearing. I would rather buy them and spare me the missery of either of the two previous suggestions.

    Where should I look? Thanks!

Looks like an INA KLRU0828112ZPO. It's pretty popular in Germany, I didn't see any available from INA in the US. Go to PTplace.com , select INA and search the part # for more info.

    Thanks, Brian

    Thanks for the info Brian!

At least I now know they exist. I will check with the local distributors to see if they can shed some light as to where to find them.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for this impressive piece of information which seems to be the solution to my problems. I think if I buy the actual track rollers, I might as well buy an entire CNC machine as they are each 60 and I need about 20 of them.

The Lowe's 1" VEX fits like a globe. Do I need to glue it into the bearing? If so, what glue do you recommend.

I will also need to turn the outer diameter to 27.5 mm, so I will try this tomorrow. Hopefully the material performs OK under a lathe.

    Thanks for this invaluable input!

I dont think you need to glue it, especially if there is no side load. it only takes hand pressure to press on. if you are worried about side loading, use flanged bearings.

another note... 1" pvc irrigation pipe will also fit those bearings, but you'll need an arbor press to get them on (they stretch about 1/32) not sure about the wear though, as I havent gotten that far.
