    Slop in X axis

    Hello,
    Im very new to this,
I have a 3 axis router with ball screws and round rail, the machine is pretty new. I noticed a .5 mm movement up and down on the x axis (sideways is ok) the manufacture did not supply any maintence hand book so I am hoping someone can tell me how to adjust the slop out of it ? Is there a standard adjustment on this round rail and ball screw system ? Or do I find out how to wind the round rail out to take up the slack ?
    Any help would be apprecated
    Denno

Start by tightening all of your bolts (just in case something worked its way loose). Then can you try to isolate the slop? is it coming from the bearings or from the screw (or the nut on the screw). once we know that, we can try to help you.

That being said... my first guess is that you have a screw with a standard nut (NOT anti-backlash) which produces this kind of slop. If this is the case, you may have to replace the screw/nut assembly. (or you can try to find a matching nut and make an anti-backlash nut yourself - NOT recommended by most screw/nut manufacturers).
