Two bearings or four?
Currently I am upgrading my machine with Thomson 60 case shafting and Thomson Super Ball pillow block bearings. On the X and Y I have used 4 of their ¾ inch diameter ones and it is working great.
I have 18 and 24 inches of travel X and Y respectively so it is a small machine that I use for model makings and RC.
My question is pertaining to the Z axis. It currently has Triangle Oshkosh 5/8 inch bronze bushings on drill rod. They are pretty tiny so it uses 4 of them for its 8 inches of travel.
I have found some Thomson Super Ball pillow blocks in 5/8 and wonder if I could get by with just two of them? Since the linear shafts are so close to each other and the range of motion is small do I need 4? I will of course replace the drill rod shafts with proper 60 case shafting
Hence my dilemma!

Thanks so much guys!!!
I would go for 4 to reduce binding?
