Hi friends, i want to assemble two deep groove ball bearings in series. what my problem is if it is required for spacers between two bearings? some persons are telling that putting spacers between two bearings is compulsory. so kindly clarify my doubt.
Not compulsory, but helpful. Spacers increase rigidity. If you use spacers between bearings, they should be at least as wide as an individual bearing width.
The spacers should be EXACTLY the same width for inner race spacer and outer ring spacer. If not, the spacers will change the axial preload. This is especially true for angular contact bearings.
It is not as critical for deep groove ball bearings because they usually have greater clearance. The higher the class of bearing, the more critical the spacer tolerance is.
