| Where do you get your linear motion goodies? Ebay is a given, but if you have a specific need and are forced to purchase new for whatever reason - where do you go? If available, please include details. Thanks! Scott

| Where to Purchase Linear Bearings You can purchase linear bearings at affordable discounts or make your own bearings by buying your material from 8020 Surplus. They have linear bearings already made or you can purchase odd lengths and cut them to size yourself and save cost yourself. I would suggest you check out their selection. |

| Igus is one to consider if you are buying new parts and don't need the super precision that $$ THK and Thompson offer. |

| I was hoping to create a "One-Stop" place for a list of suppliers/places to pick up stuff - I will get things started: I have used the Redi-Rails available from http://www.pacific-bearing.com/ . These are reasonably priced, all the info is online. I usually buy bearings locally, but on occasion, I have used http://bearingsdirect.com/ They have a pretty good selection and good pricing. Scott

| http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/N2SRHI?PMSECT=0002001136 Try MSC, they have a vast selection or linear slides and shafts, as well as ball screws and bearings! Everything is well documented, no need to play the eBay "Pot Luck" game! Prices are reasonable, and you can get exactly what you need and want! http://www.homeshopcnc.com/page2.html This is another place to get NEW ball screws & nuts! At $1.25/inch +$25 its great! If you need real precision, just use two ball nuts on one screw. Mount them so they can be adjusted away from each other to eliminate backlash in the ball thread. https://www.brigarelectronics.com/Me...&Store_Code=BE Lots of goodies here too! |

| Linear motion I was playing around with some bearings from Maytec the other day, not exactly what I was looking for. I did find some cool bearing products from Faztek. I got a sample from them the other day, they call it a T-rail system. Very economical, decent for what I'm building. Its really smooth you can customize the bearing (which I will probably be doing) This is what I'll probably be going with: http://www.faztek.net/T-rail.htm There's some UHMW bearings too, but cost a little more. I may try those also if this does not work. |
