| Worst case, my X axis 1/2x10 leadscrew is 34" unsupported. I think there is too much run-out to capture the "free" end in a bearing. What is your favorite method for supporting the "free" end of a long horizontal leadscrew? |

| Easiest is a radial bearing on the free end mounted in something like a pillow block. It should be accurately located in line with the screw axis. It should be able to allow axial movement of the screw due to possible thermal expansion (elongation). Dick Z
