    Default Will these bearings work?

Will a THK bearing HSR20 fit on a THK SR20 460L (gk) rail?

If not, can someone tell what the compatibility is for either and how to identify them.

    Many thanks

    Adam,

HSR and SR are not the same thing. hsr has the balls at 45 degree contact angle, sr has 2 at 90 degrees and two at 30 degrees. the sr rail looks sort of like a dovetail.

as to how to identify them.. download the datasheets and read them before you buy... don't ask me how i've learned that..

    Thanks for the reply.

So the Bearing has to be an SR to match the rail or vice versa the rail has to be for an HSR bearing?

no offense but does a square peg fit in a round hole?

download the datasheets and look at the drawings.

I've already read the datasheet and since its not specifically clear to someone not familiar with the product lines I thought I would ask someone with experience.

No need to reply if you don't know or don't want to clarify the datasheet.

..and no square pegs do not fit in round holes..

    Thanks,

Of course it can. You just start with a slightly smaller square peg ...

Now that the discussion of pegs is out of the way...

Can I assume from the sarcasm and insult that the simple answer is no they are no interchangeable?

You want US to download the data sheets and read them for you? Unlikely.

    Cheers

The bearing carriage type has to match the rail type/width.

    A SR20 carriage only fits a SR20 rail.

You cannot mix and match them.
