Unhappy Problem when attaching linear guide block to the plate

    Hello folks!
I am new to CNC design and have a problem which I haven't figured out for a week by now. I am trying to attach the plate to the linear guide block as you see in the attached picture. The problem is.. when I attach the plate to the blocks by tightening the screws, guide block hardly slides on the linear guide as if it is stuck. I have checked the hole centers and there is no problem. I would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

How flat is the plate? And how much slop do you have in the bolt holes?
Alignment is critical for smooth motion.

The plate is steel and laser cut. Bolts are 6mm and to avoid hole center problems I made the bolt holes 8mm. Is it bad?

Is the plate flat? If not, that's probably the problem.

Plate is completely flat but what is the tolerance here? If an unseeable bumpiness is the problem then I'll have to check that with a dial gauge and see the result. I'll share it soon. Thank you for your interest and replies.
