Default Selection of Lead Screw (Dimensions)

I am designing a CNC wood cutting router for Final Year Project of university. I wish to design it from scratch but I am stuck at the dimension selection for lead screw (since as far as I know, I should start from lead screw). The question is that what ACME lead screw should I choose? What should be the TPI, Pitch, Length, Lead, and Diameter? And on what basis should I select them?

The internet says I should consider linear velocity, or feed rates, and some say weight of the assembly, and some go for torque? But I don't know any of these. I think I will start from the lead screw and then go to these specifications. HELP. Correct me if I am wrong.

Its work envelope is supposed to be 1.5*1*0.5 ft^3 and I have decided to keep the machine size as 3*1.5*1 ft^3.
