    Default RBC Fibroid dry bearings?

Anyone have any experience with these things?
The specs look too good to be true.
    A basic 1" ID x 1.125" OD x 1" long CJS1616 has a static load rating of 38,000 lbs and costs less than $8!
Is there a reason I shouldn't switch all my low speed stuff over to these things?

As long as you can keep the velocity below the recommended surface speed (with some safety factor) for the weight the bearings will see, should be OK.

I've decided to use them exclusively in a new hydraulic mechanism I am getting ready to prototype.

I noticed the wear testing they did was quite a bit below the load capacity they advertised, so I'll be equally conservative where possible.
I also saw they spec a hard smooth surface to wear on. I decided be a bit overly conservative again and to just use hydraulic rod stock for the shafts, and skip fine machining and surface treatments.

I'll report back after some testing.

Check the material spec's. Some perform better if lubed, some swell if lubed. Is the bearing going to see contact with hydraulic oil?
