    Pocketing issues

I am attaching a DXF file that I am having trouble with. I am trying to pocket the outer portion but it will only pocket the entire drawing. I am using a .1875" diameter tool. I have tried everything I know but no luck. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks
    Kevin

I haven't looked at your DXF file, but can almost guarantee (based on your description of your problem) that what you are experiencing is due to lines, arc, etc. (Entities) which are not connected. You should use snap features in creating your drawing, to ensure that intersecting lines and arcs are actually connected. You might also try experimenting with LazyCAM's Extent settings, and then use the AutoClean function, followed by the Pocket creation. Hope this helps. I know how frustrating it can be (especially with a slow graphics card).

    Still no luck

As it is a very simple drawing I have re-drawn it numerous times but get same results every time. I am not very familiar with the Extents you mentioned. I did not want to fool around there too much in fear of really screwing things up.

If you do get a chance to run my drawing in Lazycam I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Kevin

Hi Kevin - I downloaded your DXF and got it to work by the following steps:

1 - Run the Autoclean tool under "TOOLS"
2 - Click on the outline object
3 - Make sure you click the "Create Islands" box in the pocket tool area.
