Hi everybody,
We have a lasercutter operated with Lasercut 5.3. This program seems very outdated and i was wondering if there is a better program to us to operate our lasercutter.

Hi Guys,
Don't use the Lasercut software to make your designs.
I only use the Lasercut software to finalize my layers and orientation on the working bed and than send it to the laser.
You can use whatever designing software you are comfortable with as long as it can export to DXF your fine:
- Coreldraw
- Autocad
- Sketchup (with an export to DXF plugin)
- Vectorworks
- and lots more ...
I am also interested in improvements to Lasercut 5.3. I want to generate time estimates and I'd like to request corrections to the english text. I don't even have a contact form to submit bug reports. Who wrote this thing?
I might have found an alternative for lasercut 5.3.
At the fablab Amersfoort they use Visicut for their small lasercutter.

"currently supporting the Epilog ZING, MINI and HELIX and Lasercutters with the LAOS board, but other drivers will follow in the near future"
Thinking of purchasing a 40 - 50 Watt CO2 laser but not until I see some software, been burnt before on CNC purchases. Any way to get a Demo non cutting version of LaserCut?
No

There are demo versions of Lasercut available...
But since I updated my driver to MPC6535 and i got a new Lasercxut 5.3 from Leetro I am fairly happy :-)
LaserCut 5.3 is old like a dinosaurus.
No Ethernet, no graphic nor color display, no rastering....
