Can Lasers drill set depth holes? | | Hi,
I have a few questions that i hope someone in here is able to answer. When referring to "Chinese lasers" i am referring to JCUT, G. Weike, and other reputable laser manufacturers. Please answer all questions as they apply to either a 60w or 80w CO2 laser.
1) ADA Braille Rasters: Can a laser machine drill holes to a depth of .03125" - .0325” with a diameter of .0625” (in 1/16" - 1/2" acrylic or melamine)? Are the chinese laser machines able to do this? Would a laser engraver be able to do this or only a laser cutter?
2) ADA Raised letters: Can CNC laser tables cut adhesive backed melamine to a depth of 3/32" to cut out raised letters on a piece of acrylic, melamine, or other material?
3) What is the maximum thickness an 80w laser can cut through the following materials: acrylic, melamine, lexan, sintra, carbon fiber, & phenolic resins.
4) Can a chinese laser (such as the JCUT) cut from vector artwork? What specifically controlls the depth that it cuts at?
5) Can a chinese laser combine all the functions of questions 1-3 into one simultaneous procedure (i.e., can the laser cut letters out letters at 3/32", then go drill holes to .03125" - .0325”, and then finally cut out the shape of the sign at 1/4" all without having to raise the lid and reset the system)?
6) What is the maximum depth a laser engraving machine can engrave to?
Thanks! |
