Hello, I'm new on the forum and in plotters life ! My name is Antoine, I'm French so please forgive my bad English. I just bought a rabbit HX 40 A from Jinan. I received it last Friday and installed it. Everything went good, but the piece to maintain the piece to engrave is missing... What can I do about it ? The main problem is that I can't make my MacBook Pro communicate with the machine. Indeed, the connection is a Parallel port and the cable they gave me doesn't connect neither on the machine or the macbook. I bought another cable (think it's called DB9), it goes on the machine and on the MacBook pro via USB. Till then, everything's ok. But when I try to send a File to engrave, I get an error : link error 2 and nothing happens... What can I do ? Why isn't it working ? I tried to change the USB port, change output on the software,... nothing seems to be working ! I installed the drivers on their website but it still doesn't work. I'm a little desperate, could you please help me !!! Configuration : MacBook Pro late 2008 with Windows XP SP3 Drivers and included software |

| Hello, Thx for the reply. No I don't, I have computers with recent parallels port (the pink ones, long and slim), but it does not have the same plug as the machine. But it fits the cable they gave me ! I can't understand why they gave a cable that doesn't go on the machine..? |

| Hi, Yes I did, they don't really know and advise me to get an old PC but I can't find any with this kind of port in fact... Here's the port on the machine : http://media.bestofmicro.com/Adaptat...6-2-1514-3.jpg It's almost the same. Here's the adaptor I used : http://www.arilog.com/45-128-large/c...-parallele.jpg If anybody knows how's the parallel port on the PC ? This is the only one I can find (the pink one) : http://www.x86-secret.com/pics/divers/tube/xp4-9b.jpg |

| The parallel port on a PC is a standard DB25 female socket, the pink one in your images. A standard parallel printer cable terminates in a 36 pin Centronics (that your laser has). So you just connect a printer cable from the PC parallel port to the laser. As I said before, I don't think a USB adapter will work as you need to use a driver for the conversion and the laser requires direct control as they do some bit blasting for the initialization process. | The machine did not come with a cable? You just need a 'parallel printer cable' available at any electronics / computer store. http://www.computercablesource.com/1...-foot-755.html Zax. |
