Hi I think this machine is similar to the rabbit version, its from hpc laser in the UK. I was wondering if anyone had converted the machine to mach3. So far I have the components and driver board to make all the modifications. I am just not sure which way to control the laser on/off. IE i know I can do it with mach3 software but am not sure of the physical connections to the laser control board. It would be useful if someone could send a photo or diagram of their machine and the physical connections they made. |

| Can I ask why? I can think of 2 good reasons... 1. The current driver is dead - and it's cheaper to go the step/direction method 2. The supplied software is inadequate Mach3 is fine if you plan to do cutting only, but marginal for engraving with the plug-in. It's improving all the time though. Do you know what input your laser PSU has, pwm or voltage? If it's voltage based you'll need a D/A convertor (something like a digispeed controller). PWM may be able to drive directly but often you'll find it requires much higher frequency than your PC can provide. I will have a look in my notes, I may have some wiring diagrams somewhere. Zax. |

| The software is newlydraw and is very basic. I am thinking with mach3 I can have a lot more control and I dont do any engraving. Mach3 also seems easier to set up as newlydraw has very little documentation with it. Wiring diagrams would be very useful. |
