Ok.. I've finally recieved my machine and I've tripple checked all of the installs on everything and am now ready to do the Laser Alignment. To be honest this part makes me a little nervous, and I want to get it right. 1) I installed the Laser Tube and connected the wires to both ends as explained. 2) I hooked up the Chiller, the new CW5000 unit and filled the Laser tube with water. Everything seemd to go well. I "DID NOT" have any bubble develop though??? It seems totally full and the CW5000 seems to be operating properly and says normal. I was kind of amazed that there was no bubble after all the talk about one, but maybe I got lucky or something. a) I used 6 litres of distilled water mixed with one cup of "Propylene Glycol" based Antifreeze. b) Once i filled the Laser tube I added an additional 1 1/2 litres of distilled water into the CW5000 to bring it back up to full. 3) I connected the exhaust fan to the unit and vented it outdoors. This was a little bit of a challenge because the exhaust hose did not have a face plate on the machine itself to connect it to?? So I made one in my shop and solved the problem. I've got a nice tight seal to the machine now but it took some time to do. 4) I connected the Air Assist with no difficulty. 5) I connected the power supply to the board inside the panel box and now I think I'm ready to start the actual Laser Alignment. I will do this tomorrow and I'm hoping I don't have any fireworks when I first put power to the unit. ![]() 6) It says in the manual "the best I can understand anyhow" that you move the Laser head to the four corners of the unit. Right now "without power" the Laser head "CAN NOT" be moved. When I put power to the unit for the first time "DOES THIS FREE UP THE LASER HEAD SO THAT I CAN MOVE IT AROUND???" If anyone has any VIDEO of the actual setup I would love to see it. If not any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks David Last edited by TheWorkshopGuy; 10-04-2009 at 08:59 AM. | Obviously, you can't have the gantry flopping around loose while it's being shipped, so maybe you have something on yours to prevent that, which has to be removed before running? Bob p.s. Bet you're excited! |
