Cutting mirrored acrylic?

Hello, I don't know if i'm missing something obvious here, but how would i go about laser cutting mirrored acrylic? I tried treating it as if it were normal acrylic, but obviously the laser beam was just reflected off the surface...

Any ideas?

Same goes for a glass mirror - if you want to etch off the reflective backing.

Just remember to 'mirror' the job too.

Cut the mirrored side and cover it with transfer tape. Works like a charm.
