Hi! I have a Strong SG-40A laser engraver. I have this kind of problem: (1) As it shows on the first picture when I do the engraving (when the laser light turns on and off) at the outline of the figures the power seems much stronger for some reason and there the engraved surface becomes much deeper (you can see on the picture each of the letters have deeper outline). At the thin letters this outlines almost make contact. This first attached picture I tried to engrave in a form of low- and high-resolution picture, black and white picture and greyscale picture. The focus is setted according to the regulation. (2) As it shows on the second picture signed with yellow - when I engraver a rubber at the thin stem of the letters gets burned. |

| I can't get your pictures to come up, but it doesn't sound like a laser problem. I suspect it's the material. Check by lightly engraving the design on wood or cardboard and see if you get a darker outline? A solution may be to defocus the laser slightly, of course your spot size will be larger too (which may not be acceptable). Zax. |

| I tried to defocus the laser but nothing has changed. I bought this laser engraver not too long ago and at the beginning it did not have this kind of problem. Before I set the mirrors to the exact position I did not have this kind of problem (just the deepness of the engraving was not even). At the attached photo it shows if I turn the power to the smallest position (lightly engraving) then only just the outline shows. Does someone have any idea what the problem is? (If the photo doesn't show here is a link:http://takkerweb.uw.hu/laserproblem/laserproblem1.html) |
