Problem with my video (Lost the firewire cable!!)

I have seen similar problems caused by settling errors (PID feedback loop) on servos but this can't be the case with stepper motors.

This looks more like a controller problem (firmware) or possibly from driver feedback (electrical noise), but since you said it seems rough mechanically I guess it could be caused by resonance or slack in the other axis.

If you do a line is it straight? (without moving the other axis... so just a line in X or Y independantly).

Actually that makes sense... if you cut a square, do you get these deviations at each corner? (as the y-axis stops and the x-axis begins etc)

If this is a firmware issue I would think the manufacturer or local representative has experienced this before, so hopefully they can help. As I said, it could also be from belt/cable stretch, slowing the system down should correct it if this is the case. There may be some adjustment of the tension that will fix the problem, or you may need to replace the belts.

Found the problem!! Had a poke around in the machine setup sub menu's (The one's marked not for use by the user!) The head travel speed had set itself to 99999.99mm/s.
Jiachen recently provided me with the new version of the process software which I have had a few problems with, it still will not cut and arc! Surely the new software can't have changed the dsp settings? I would like to go back to using my tried and trusted 2007 version of the process software(which I have) The problem is that I have removed the Corel Visual basic GMS file from my system and my backup disk is corrupted(Not able to recover).Does anyone have the 2007 software GMS file for this machine
