can anyone help me calibrate the hx40a rabbit laser. i have had it a month now and still cannot use it as each time i send a design it starts to cut outside of the x y axis area and is cutting into the metal at the side of the work area. The software is newlydraw which is not very good but is needed to run the laser. i have tried all possible settings and nothing makes a difference. i am beginning to think i wasted my money as i have designed lots of work for my business but cannot cut it. could someone with the same laser please help me with these calibration settings. i received a piece of paper with some settings on these were followed but still not starting in the correct place. thanks michelle

Hi Michele, Don't know if this is going to help, there's an installation video here and some documentation. http://www.rabbitlaser.com/support/home.htm I have the 6040 machine but it came with Lasercut software so can't help you with the Newlydraw. On my machine control panel I have a Datum button which resets the head to zero position on the X and Y axis. Sorry that's not much info but I hope it helps. Regards Dave

i have had the same problem with the same machine/software. i have finally figured it out but after each engrave or cut i have to reset the xy 0.0 position. i have taken to placing a sheet of paper or card on the work area, pressing 'draw frame' so i know the exact position to set the piece.
