Need Help!- Rabbit/lasercut rotary settings

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help with my XZ-M-I rotary attachemnt settings.

Fom what I understand I have to change the Y-axis Pulse Unit setting to work the attachemnt.

Could anyone tell me how to calculate that setting based on diameter of the lasered item.

I'm using Lasercut 5.1 on a 4060 SE 40W

On my WK Laser machine the formula was 3.14*D/2 and insert that number where it shows in the picture below.

As soon as I saw your post I jumped up with excitement to go try it.

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

My test engraving is a circular graphic which is 40.5mm dia on to a 66mm dia glass. With the formula you suggested I get an oval about 21mm wide.

I did some trials using smaller values untill I got it right but of coarse, it was only good with that particular dia.

i still not realize this.
i just using my rotary attachment, and not change any setting on machine.
but as far as, it's look fine on my machine. i could engraving on glass and cutting cylinder acrylic.

You are fortunate that it work out that way. The problem you will have is if you go bigger in diameter, you will end up with a narrow image.

I have a lasser rabbit rotary but i do not need changed anything. I connect the rotary in the X controler and work good

Could you tell me what the various diameters are that you use with this, and is it the XZ-M-I rotary attachemnt.

I attach pictures of my rotary. I changed to allow recording cylinders with grip objects. If I have problems when the objects are not perfect or cylindrical shapes with irregular. Cylinders to be swiveled by the roller bearing the same gear ratio, so it is not necessary to make any change in the configuration of the shaft.

Ask the Rabbit company to give the value of the stepper motor so, you can input the right value. It looks the stepper motors in the machine (X and Y) is not the same as in the rotary attachement.

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like I have to do just that.

In the meantime I'm going to experiment to try to find the answer.

Er, the circumference of a circle is Pi x D = 3.1416 x Diameter

That might give a better looking circle.
