Need Help!- HELP please ! Laser machine advices...ebay ?

Hello,

I'm looking for a low-cost machine that can cut and engrave acrylic (5mm) - engraving area : 200/300mm or more.
Did someone has an idea ? something to propose ?
Did anyone had ever buy or hear about laser engravers we can find on ebay ?

Unless you are an experienced laser user, which I would guess you are not, you would be advised to buy a laser from one of the major manufacturers, through an authorized reseller. You can get a good deal on a laser on ebay, IF, you know what you are looking for and understand the potential problems you may have with a used system or one of the Chinese lasers. There is nothing wrong with the Chinese lasers, a lot of people have them and are using them, but for a first time user I might think twice about that route.

We just purchased a laser engraver a few weeks ago. It is the GCC Spirit 30 watt.

This would do everything that you are looking for and more. It is very easy to use. You do not program it like a CNC machine. Instead you just "print" to it like you would a printer or a plotter. You can print from any program like AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, or anything that prints vector graphics.

The 30 watt laser can easily cut 10mm thick acrylic and can do an OK job up to 25mm thick. It can also be set to do very delicate engraving. It can burn off the printing on a piece of paper without cutting the paper.

There are many options and accessories. You can get different powers and different sizes. This product family is a good starting point for your search for a laser.

Depending on options, you will pay $12,000-20,000 USD for a complete laser with everything that you need.

I also have a GCC laser, an Explorer ZX. Mine is 30 watt, 38" x 20", 38" x infinite length with the doors open. There are a lot of good lasers on the market, the best thing is to talk to people in your area and ask about their laser and what their support was like when they had problems. You'lll get many different opinions on what laser is "best", but the thing you really need to be concerned about is who has the best support - in your area.
