Omnisign alternative software recommendations?

Hi,

I've recently purchased an Onnisign Pro 500 laser engraver/cutter from www.reddotinternational.com and I wonder if anyone has experience/recommendations for software other than Moshidraw?

Also, is it possible to use this device with an HP-GL printer driver? I guess I should just try it!

Have a look at Solustan's LinkMotion. I
I've no idea if it will work for your machine (since you didn't say what it is) but you could ask the engineers there.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply. I did mention that the machine was an Omnisign 500 Pro (from http://www.reddotmachinery.com.au/pr...ngraver_B.html)

I now know it won't work with a HP-GL printer driver (apparently the controller only recognises a limited subset of HP-GL commands), and it seems from further research that the best bet is to replace the motor controller boards with some more standard hobby-cnc units that can be driven by EMC2 or similar.

Still, if anyone knows of a good software alternative, I'd be more than happy to hear about it!

I have a Omnisign Plus PRO 500 II. which runs off corelDraw.
Am on 2nd tube (3rd actually after a faulty replacement was set)
Have been using mine for about a year and a half not sure if i can be too much of a help but would be good to have a chat to some people about it.
