Problem(s) with Red Sail M300

Hi all
very interesting forum here
i have read a lot of items here but i havent encountered mine yet.
software Easycut 2.0

here is the problem:
i draw something in Corel Draw X3
now i export in plt

import it in Easycut

set the speed laser etc etc

a soon i start lets say with a circle , i will try to back to the left
mechanicly it can not , so it will lock against the mechanical stop
the switch itself works.
i tricked the machine by setting the focus to the middle of the workpiece
hold the limit switch in so it thinks it is at home postion.
again it will do the circle but will go more to the left then the "faked" limit .
so basicly it overshoots

also one thing is not working
in laser cut you can set in the "origin"settings the offset so i can set it more to left or right.

the y axis works like a charm
but the x axis does not.
i have a feeling they somehow create this problem.
what can this be?

and last but not least
it seems it has no info file or a setting it can remember.
all has to be programmed again and again everytime you start this program.

Sandor

Thank you red sail and more resellers of this great product from you..
still no one has answered my problem(s).
the manufacturer did reply with a manual wich consist basicly how to cut...
a image or engrave something..

not really a manual

so far i discovered you can not set the machine 0 position
as your o point to start cutting it WILL go from right to left.
that means it will try to pass the max 0 point and make a horrible noice...

the thing you need to do is to put in a work piece
manual ride the laserhead to the most right up position
press the outline button and start from there...

it seems to if i read from all the messages on this section there are more problems with this factory..
the hardware looks much better then the "other"thing i bought.
however with the moschi software that came with the crappy machine.
i can set my work area anywhere i want , and it will remember it if i have to do multiple jobs....

Hi Sandor,

On My LaserCut 5 software, under machine options there is a checkbox that says "auto datum". If checked it makes the machine go to home every time it's turned on. I unchecked that box and now it stays where it was when I turned the machine off. I restart the machine and the laser head doesn't move to home.

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, and I don't know if LaserCut 2 has that auto datum checkbox option.

Take care,
Skip

no it does not have that option..
but thats fine now..
i got more issues..

now i am cutting acrylic
when it does move it looks like it is shooting holes instead of cutting one line
it looks if the stepper motor does not run smooth but rather jumps
if you know what i mean.
you can see on the picture when it pusches thru the acylic onto the wood
i am blaming the stepper motor
have no idea why it is doing this..

With regard to acrylic cutting troubles: This is unlikely to be the case, but perhaps in your software you have a "PPI" setting (Pulses Per Inch)? If so, set it higher. Those marks look exactly like a very low laser pulse rate; the power is still there otherwise it wouldn't be burning through the acrylic and into the wood; the laser is just pulsing slowly. When lasers cut, the beam is not "always on" like a plasma torch or a router spindle, but instead it pulses rapidly. A higher PPI makes smoother edges in acrylic, a lower PPI cuts wood without too much char.

Not sure

it has a setting in the machine options
called Laser on delay
laser of delay

so i set the max on delay to -20 and the max of to 20
(wont go more then 20).

still you can see clearly the motor stepping i think that is causing this
between every step it is slower thus cutting deeper.

also the speed setting does not respond to the actual cutting.
only when between 2 cuts i think there is where it does it speeds.
it almost looks this software is only ment for engraving...

Right, doesn't sound like PPI then. Try the following, which will further your understanding of the problem: Program a square or rectangle to cut. When you cut it, do the straight sides have those problems? Program a circle and cut it. Now, do you get the marks? If the square works, it might be the way the cut file is put together that will determine your success with cutting. Curves are handled differently with different software. For instance, a smooth complex curve (say, like a puzzle piece) in Autocad translates to a series of little straight line segments when it gets imported to Corel Draw (sometimes). To the eye, this still looks like your puzzle piece, but to cnc equipment, it might appear as several start and stop segments. Now, you're not working with software as good as this, so the problem might be worse? A straight line should still be a straight line, so there shouldn't be any starting and stopping in the middle of it. If this doesn't explain the trouble, I'm out of ideas and someone who actually has your equipment had better step in to help!

o yes you are right..
if i cut a rectangle it goes very fast..
and i have no problem
as soon there is a curve the whole thing slows down

like the puzzle you guys have here on the forums somewhere
the puzzle went very slow , the outline of the puzzle it did in a blink of the eye.
i guess then i cant solve this solution?
the thing was they promissed me a program called lasermate according to their website.
with this program it acts like my cnc cutter software where i can
a tool to a color and set its speeds for that tool.
if that was the case it would save me all this trouble..

Could it be the x3 corel doing it when it translates it
Have you tried with other versions of corel ?

Did you find solution on your problem?

Hello Sandor_nl
I am a user of an M300 to.
I have the same problem with you and a think so the problem exists on software not on hardware.
If you find any solution please inform me if it is easy for you.
Thank you in advance
