Free Vector Images?

Hi,

Ive been searching the web for good vector images that can be used to laser engraved. Havent had too much luck. Does anybody know of any free web sites I can find some?

go to www.google.com and search for... free vector ....

It's hit and miss but there's quite a few pages to look at. It's a good place to start anyhow.

They are very hard to find for free. I bought Corel print House Magic about 8 years ago and it has about 100,000 clip art pics and a book showing what they all look like and where to find them on disk. Invaluable and well worth the $80 I paid at the time. Do a search on Ebay or other auction sites and see what you come up with. Sometimes you just have to pay for things and it's a lot quicker if you can't draw like me.

I'm guessing to clean up the photo or drawing so it can be cleaner to draw a tool path?

I'm trying to learn as much as possilbe before I built a plasma cutter...So, what would the application to need this?

Vector magic converts bitmaps to lines, so you can cut with it, whether it be laser, plotter, CNC router or plasma cutter. Their powerful computer does a much better job than the trace programs the come with Corel or Adobe Illustrator, so won't you have to spend so much time cleaning it up by manipulating the points and changing lines to curves or vice versa.

I've tried it with pretty good results but it's by no means perfect.
