Cutting PETG and acrylic Questions

Hey guys;

Now that my 80w unit is up and running I am looking to compare it with the rest of you to see if I can further tweak my system to increase cutting speed or to improve my cutting.

I am cutting PETG and pushing my system as fast as it can I can cut through 6mm or approx 1/8" PETG at about 40mm, just under 2 inches per sec. But I get a huge amount of smoke at time obscuring the entire cutting head! I slowed it down and now cut at 10mm under 1/2" per second. The smoke is greatly reduced and in many cases its not noticeable at all.

My beam appears well aimed and the cut width on acrylic seems quite small, maybe 1mm at top and less than half that at the bottom of the 1/8" stock. I also notice a small but obvious ridge at the top of the cuts. It appears to form when the material receeds away form the heat and cools. Its only apparent when the protective covering is removed from the stock and its very small. So what kind of speeds and power are you guys using and what kind finish aI think I am getting too much heat transfer to the material. So what kind of speed and quality of cut are you getting?
