Hi. This is my one of three threads I will start after my very first attempt to laser engrave photos on wood. I am using JC-4040 from China with a Photoshop bmp opened in Moshidraw for the output. Amp meter set to 0.8. A 6cm by 8cm photograph took approximately 25 minutes to complete. The specs of the machine state the engraving speed is < 300mm/s. Vendor told me it would take about 35 seconds to engrave a photo on wood. Am I doing something wrong or is this what I should expect? Thanks. |

| It seems it can be quicker with the right image conversion and output settings. Unfortunately I have to use MoshiDraw as it is the only software my machine will recognise. MoshiDraw is without doubt the worst software I have ever used in my life. I have uploaded an image of the output settings. Can anyone suggest what settings would be the quickest output to laser engrave on to wood? |
