Easiest way to do this is open up Device Manager (right click on my computer then select properties, and then select device manager) and find the usb device with the yellow exclamation point. Right click on it and say update driver. You should then have options to specify a directory to search through and just point that to the moshidraw directory.
Just an FYI MoshiDraw would crash outputting every time under Windows 7 for me. I had to revert the engraving machine to Windows XP. I also have CorelDraw setup. Just install CorelDraw to the same machine and then in select File -> Options in Moshidraw. There should be a button to "Link CorelDraw". It will add a toolbar in corel draw which lets you export ptl or bmp to moshidraw for cutting/engraving. |
This post Gadroc made was a real help and saved me a lot of time and frustration. Thanks !!! I just got mine today, and I gotta say, I'm happy and impressed with it for the money. Everything was perfect right out of the box, no damage or missing or loose parts. I think it's a KIII, there's no model number on the control panel, maybe it's KIV ??? I don't know what the difference would be anyway.
I ran it for the first time this evening, below are my first trial runs, that's black marble and it cut 1/4" acrylic (decently I think). Sorry about the out of focus pics, hard for me to take decent pics of black marble tonight.
I'll be making an air assist attachment right away as well as adding a water flow sensor monitored by a PIC microcotroller to shut the laser down if flow drops below a preset level. And a few other things. My plan is to eventually gut this thing and move the parts to my CNC router table, but I'm already enjoying it as is right now. The router will be removed permanently and it will be a dedicated laser only table .
I have a few questions tho, what is the exact distance from the bottom of the lens body to the top of the work piece supposed to be to get the precise focus point on the top of the work piece ?
And, can you move the axis from within the MoshiDraw SW ? "No big deal and I doubt it, just curious"
I'm sure I'll have some more questions as I go.
Thanks
