I am using a 40 watt laser engraving machine (mod. 3060) for engraving, which works O.K. Now I want to cut out figures out of 4 mm. acrylic sheet.
However, my machine does not cut through the material; it engraves the line but does not go deep enough, not even with the laserpower at maximum.
It looks like the machine does not have enough power to cut through the material.
Can anybody tell me how to cut acrylics e.g. by increasing the laserpower.

From what I have read 40watt should do it but not a lot to spare.
Things you likely already know;
1) Mirror alignment not perfect reduces power substantially.
2) Same with focal length
3) Moving to fast.
4) CO2 lasers lose power over time and use.
5) Dirty reflective and focal lens.

Hope you get it worked out, I know how frustrating that is, I still cannot get my 130watt to cut 6mm but making headway.

Try reducing the speed in stages until you find the speed at which it will cut right through.
