Kern Laser Machine Help plz

Any body working in kern laser machine, i have Certain doubts to be clarified
Plz give me the parameters for cutting 15 mm thick clear acrylic, when i cut i get lined effect on the sides of the acrylic

Are the lines going from the top to the bottom of the material?

Yes, i get lines effect in the sides of acrylic from top to bottom, i have attached a image
I you have experience running kern, i have lot of quetion to put forward

i get line effect even when i cut 5 mm acrylic

No my experience isn't with Kern, but that is a common problem across the board. It has to do with the way CNC's work If you look at a vector image, a curve isn't a curve. It is actually a series of really short straight lines, most material you won't notice that with until you cut Acrylic. Your best bet is to use some fine sandpaper and then polish the edge.

What other problems are you having? When it comes to kern specific problems, you may be surprised to find that it's not specific to kern.

i increased the frequency, upto an extent better result for high thickness

There a number of different causes for this effect.
If you look at the true horizontals here, they are smooth but all circles and other lines have striations on the edges. This was caused by the software making a very poor job of smoothing the steps.

If you striations occur on all surfaces including the straight horizontals and verticals then try reducing the air assist and possibly the feed rate as well. Too much power can also spoil the finish so you have to experiment a bit.




Once I got it right (and it took some time to figure out) this is the difference you can expect to achieve.
