Hi All I have a HPC LS3020 Laser Cutter, been using for a couple of weeks. Everything is very good, including newlydraw setup, .dxf creation cut order etc except for one thing. The backs of my cut pieces have marks on them. I raise each A4 peice of 3mm acrylic off the metal honeycomb cutting table by approx 6mm leaving an air gap. That stopped the underside from becoming heavily melted and marked. I also individually set the laser height to each piece by the suggested method of using a guide (provided with machine) which measures 58mm in height, although it does say in the manual the height from surface to top of laser housing should be 62mm. The underside of each piece has several but irregular pit marks (like stone chips) like the laser has shot it from underneath, they only measure a few mm in diameter by spoil the look. I am taking the protective film off both sides of the acrylic sheet before cutting. Is there something I'm not doing or should be doing? Regards Steve |

| Steve, It is caused by the reflections from your bed or the honeycomb edges. You can prevent reflections from the bed by laying a small sheet of thick acrylic under the honeycomb, this should absorb the unwanted power. I use an 8mm thick piece of glass, works like a charm. Tweakie.
