Hi. We are looking at a laser cutting machine for a max of 3mm steel. The machine is a 1kw fibre laser. I have a few questions. What is the effect of the assist gas, ie air, oxygen or nitrogen. If the steel is to be powdercoated after cutting does it need nitrogen as an assist. Can the power or speed of a fibre be turned down to allow rudimentary line marking on the steel (ie to mark a fold line) Thanks in advance for your replies. Regards Alan Case  |
