large stainless steel etching

Hello all,

I am looking to either purchase my own laser or find someone that I can contract the work out to.

I am in search of a laser that can etch stainless steel up to 42" x 70". I understand that in order to get the photo quality etchings that can seen on aluminum it will require either a co2 laser with a coating of Cermark or a fiber laser.

Kern's laser systems can etch stainless with a CO2 laser using oxygen assist (no Cermark needed). Their HSE50-72 (HSE Specifications - 52" x 50") is large enough for you.

Depending on the quantity we can do this. Are you looking to engrave photos? The Kern system would not be large enough for you and would take forever because it is a flying optic system, plus a Kern system to do this would be about $100,000.

We have developed a new fiber optic deliver galvo scan head with xy motion for any size requirement. This will use no additive like Cermark and will be capable of cutting steel as well. This style system would cost somewhere in the $50,000 range. We have many other systems as well that could do this kind of work.

Here is a quick video of a 6W Diode laser engraving ss with no additive. Just image a 20W Fiber, I would estimate it could engrave about 10-20x faster then a flying optic system.
