ok heres my problem i'm trying to engrave an oak buttstock for a sheriff's department shield to be inlaied into it, but no matter what i do i can't get the size right for it to fit in side of the engraving Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to do this. Your help would be much appreciated |

All the inlay work I have done so far has involved cutting the inlay and then cutting the pocket using the same drawing. My best suggestion is to scan the object into a cad/cam then outline to get the shape of the pocket then use the 'tool radius offset' function to adjust the aspect ratio to fit. Perhaps a bit of trial and error is needed. Tweakie. (thanks to Switcher for the dxf)
