Newbie- CAD Newbie question (probably realy easy...)

Hello

I got one of those dxf puzzle and I have a "question".

Ok what I need to do is to scale a part (a line between 2 dots) because the material I use is thicker.

I downloaded Doublecad XT but since I am only engraving stamps with my laser I am (totally) lost with CAD softwares...

So here is what I would like to do :

So If someone could explain to me how to do that I would be really thankful :-)

I am not familiar with DoubleCAD but in most programs you can subtract an element from another. So I would create a rectangle you want to remove and use boolean substract from the original shape.

Another thing that is done is scale the whole thing up till the slot fits your material. Sometimes the larger material need to make a larger model to look right.

gmfoster makes a very good point - simply enlarging the slots may not produce the best results.
