Newbie- Scanning optics/controllers for marking text?

I use IR DPSS lasers for an industrial marking application. I need to mark alphanumeric serial numbers in an OCR-able font. The machines I have now, are so ancient that I can't buy X-Y galvos or even get them repaired, plus they operate slowly and the controller software is very limited.

I'd like to rip out the current X-Y galvos and controller computer and replace it with a new scanning head and controller. I'm having a hard time shopping for this sort of thing, though. The only vendor that I've come up that sells laser scanning optics is Cambridge Scanning; they have some scan heads that will work with my laser but the only controllers they have are limited in terms of interface. Are there other companies that sell X-Y scanning optics and controllers? A controller that is specifically for marking text would be great but I can program the actual marking software to do whatever, as long as I can control it with some interface.

Their scanning head is beyond my finances but they do come up occasionally, second user, on eBay. Existing mirrors should be OK but different lens may be required for DPSS.
